Sam and Aileen’s – Spring Wedding at Middleton Lodge took place in the middle of March and we were definitely blessed with a lovely spring day. This was quite a sharp contrast to the misty (foggy) day of their pre wedding shoot in Durham City on a particularly cold February day.
When I first arrived at Middleton Lodge I was greeted by, as I often am on a wedding morning, by the lovely Anna, Middleton Lodge’s event coordinator. Anna had just had a glimpse of Aileen’s dress and she was very excited for me to see it. The wedding gown had been handmade and Aileen had helped to design it herself, it was definitely very special and certainly a dress to get excited about! On my way up to the Bridal Suite I met the very talented Jean and her colleague from Elise Flowers (who had also designed the beautiful bridal bouquets and buttonholes as well as all the flowers place around the house and marquee) putting the finishing touches to the stunning garland on the stairs.
As usual the bridal suite was a hive of industry, Lesley from LA Hair was busy styling bridesmaids hair, while Jo Leversuch of Make-up by Jo was expertly helping Aileen’s mum with her make up. before working together to give Aileen her very English Rose bridal look.
Sam and his Best Man were hidden away in one of Middleton Lodge’s other unique bedrooms where Stan caught up with them to catch some shots of them making their own preparations before a short time of chilling in the Lodges ever popular snooker room, prior to greeting arriving guests.
Throughout the day guests were entertained by Jazz trio, Louis Louis Louis, the whole atmosphere of the day was very chilled which was exactly as Sam & Aileen had requested, they wanted to enjoy every minute of the day with their family and friends. We just sneaked away for a few minutes with Sam and Aileen while Anna and her team showed the guests to their seats in the Marquee. Making the most of the beautiful Spring sunshine and Middleton Lodges stunning grounds.
