“Thanks to Stan and Jane for their fabulous photography. From the way you put us both at ease during our pre-wedding shoot to the way you captured our day without intrusion we are really grateful. We have been absolutely delighted with the stunning pictures you have taken and the time put in by you both before and after our wedding to make sure we got precisely what we wanted. We can’t wait to see them in our album in a few weeks time.”
Katie & Ben
Middleton Lodge – Summer Marquee Wedding –
Katie & Ben are extremely busy people, so we so pleased to be able to fit a pre wedding shoot into their busy schedules in Oxford were Ben had attended St Johns College. We had a fab time in Oxford with them both so we knew that we were going to really enjoy their wedding day. Ben had already told us how much care and attention Katie had put into all aspects of their wedding day.
Jane started the day at Saks in Northallerton where the girls hair and make up prep was taking place. While the girls were still there we had a surprise visit from best man Richard with a stunning pair of Cartier earrings for Katie. Richard was also pleased to report that Ben was delighted with his watch from Katie. Once everyone had completed hair and make-up we headed back to Katie’s parents home at Welbury. Joanna and her amazing team from Twisted Willow Floristry had already delivered the bridal bouquets and buttonholes and everything was in place for a quick bacon sandwich before getting ready for the arrival of the wedding cars, supplied by Keith Snowdon of Ripon. Katie’s and the bridesmaid’s beautiful handmade dresses by Charlotte Thompson of Tutbury. We were all so busy getting ready to leave for the church that we hadn’t really noticed how windy it was outside until suddenly the marquee that had been erected for a drinks reception the next day took off in dramatic style. All hands to the deck and this was rescued so that everyone could get back on with the job in hand… getting to the church on time.
Stan joined Ben and the boys at Middleton Lodge’s newly refurbished Coach House Hotel where they had stayed the previous evening and were getting ready for the big day part of which included dressing up Ben’s new pride and joy, his Audi RX8. Ben and his best men wore suits by designer Paul Smith and the Groomsmen’s were supplied by Moss Bros After a few photos at Middleton Lodge the guys headed over to St Mary’s Church at Appleton Wiske to great some of the guests and preparing for Katie’s arrival.
On arrival at the church, Katie and her father Keith had to take great care with her veil and dress as the wind hadn’t improved at this point. Appleton Wiske is a quite a small, anglican village church, so the ceremony led by Rev. Simon Goulding was a very intimate service. The guests then braved the wind to congregate around the Lychgate, which had been tied up in village tradition , the children, hoping for a few coins in order for them to be untied.
The guests then headed off to Middleton Lodge for the drinks reception, we were pleased to find that it was a little more sheltered. The guests were then looked after and served drinks and canapés in the lovely reception rooms at The Lodge by Anna and her very attentive team. Before being guided over to the Marquee, which was beautifully dressed with more amazing floral arrangements fro Twisted Willow for the Wedding Breakfast and some very entertaining speeches. Prior to the evening festivities we escaped with Katie & Ben for a few photos, we even ventured into the bluebells! The party and dancing was led by Leeds based band Backbeat
