Here are some more images from our Hong Kong wedding, Gloria & Samuel provided lunch for their family and friends while they prepared for their wedding ceremony, which was held at The Catholic Cathedral in Hong Kong. The building was absolutely amazing, Samuel & Gloria arrived together half an hour before the ceremony was due to begin and greeted everyone as they arrived; very different from the English tradition, but a lovely idea! The ceremony took the form of a full Catholic Mass, this was followed by group photos outside the church, where everyone was very enthusiastic to be photographed with the newly weds.
Then off to the Hotel Shangri-la in Central for a cocktail reception, followed by another change of outfit from Gloria and then an evening banquet for Family and friends. There was lots of singing and reminiscing in the form of photos displayed on large screens, followed by lots of tears. Samuel organised a mass of heart shaped balloons, carried by the bridesmaids and ushers for Gloria ( A lovely touch as he had filled her room with balloons when he had asked her to marry him, what an old romantic he is! There wasn’t a box of tissues big enough for Gloria!) At midnight we said our goodbyes to Gloria, Samuel, the bridal party and the video guys, and jumped into our red cab home.
A very long day, but we enjoyed every minute of it, lots of laughs, fun and tears, we were made to feel so welcome by everyone, a special thanks to Cyrus for helping us keep up with Chinese tradition and coping with the language.
