Stuart & Lorena’s Winter Wedding took place at Middleton Lodge in February and in traditional English style it rained all day!
Stuart & Lorena originally met in China when Stuart transferred to Shenzhen with his career. Lorena originally from Columbia is currently studying for her Masters Degree in Hong Kong and commutes over the Chinese/Hong Kong border everyday.
We were full of admiration for Stuart as he undertook the task of planning their wedding at the beautiful Middleton Lodge in North Yorkshire in only a couple of weeks in this country and from then on with email correspondence between him and all the suppliers. With a little help (or possibly a lot!) of help from Mum Debbie. We met the lovely Lorena at the beginning of October when the two of them managed a final trip to the England before the big day for Lorena to actually see the venue and meet everyone that Stuart had chosen to be part of their Wedding. We had arranged to meet at Durham for their pre wedding shoot, we instantly took to Lorena, she has such an infectious laugh and is really easy to photograph.
The wedding day seemed to come around so quickly and before we know it we were at Middleton Lodge getting ready for their wedding ceremony. It was especially nice to meet some of Lorena’s family who had travelled all the way from Columbia for the Wedding, Having met Lorena’s Parents, Irene and Pedro we now know where she gets her infectious laugh and huge smile from! Jo from Make up by Jo and Sami from Vintage Tinsel were already well underway with make up and Hair when Jane arrived at the The Lodge. The stunning dress, which had been handmade in China, was hung up ready to wear and everyone in the room was just a little jealous of Lorena’s Manolo Blanhik shoe’s. The beautiful Bridal Bouquets were delivered by Flowers by Nattrass, while the lovely floral displays in the ceremony and at the wedding breakfast were arranged by a family friend.
Stan met with Stuart and the boys at his family home to catch some shots of them getting ready to leave for Middleton Lodge. Once at the Lodge the boys met with Anna and checked everything was in order, before greeting guests as they were arriving.
The Ceremony performed by North Yorkshire Registrars was a very emotional affair. Stuart and Lorena had written their own vows to each other which resulted in a lot of laughing and crying!
Following the ceremony the guests dispersed around the reception rooms at Middleton Lodge to enjoy the drinks and canapés served by The Lodge team, before heading down to the marquee for the speeches and Wedding Breakfast. Stuart received a particularly welcome wedding gift from his brother and Best Man, Alistair – a signed copy of Alex Ferguson‘s Autobiography!
The guests then headed back to the house to chill for a while before the dance started in The Main Hall of the House. Mood lighting was supplied by Magnum-Entertainment and musical entertainment was from Los Amigos. After the first dance to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking out Loud” the party really began!
Stuart and Lorena were off on “Buddymoon” with their Family to London followed by a “Minimoon” to Edinburgh and hope to have a real “Honeymoon” in Japan later in the year.
