For their North Yorkshire Wedding Venue – Middleton Lodge was the perfect choice for Simon & Hannah. They very much wanted a relaxed wedding where their family and friends could relax and really enjoy the whole wedding experience. Middleton Lodge is the perfect venue for this style of occasion, Simon and Hannah and their guests arrived on the Friday afternoon for a celebration meal, which also gave them all the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful Georgian House.
The following morning everyone had chance to explore the amazing grounds before preparing for the early afternoon ceremony. Simon and the boys even managed to fit in a quick game of cricket on the lawn after they had got themselves all spruced up in their Moss Bros suits
Meanwhile Hannah, her Mum and Bridesmaid and sister-in-law to be, Emma, were chilling and getting on with make up preparations. Jo Leversuch of Make-up by Jo was busy, working her magic, while Richard from Be Premiere was styling Mum and Emma’s hair. The beautiful Bride and Bridesmaid’s bouquets were designed by Lucy MacNicoll Floral Design. Hannah’s wedding gown was a Justin Alexander design from Angel Brides of Horsforth.
Hannah & Simon opted to have their wedding ceremony in The Beautiful Drawing Room so that their guests could enjoy music from pianist Emma White‘s playing Middleton Lodge’s very own Steinway Grand Piano. The ceremony was a short but very sweet ceremony, after which everyone was able to make the most of the beautiful sunshine on The Lodge’s amazing daisy covered lawns. Magician Jonathan Paul aka JP Magic was on hand to entertain guests while Master of Ceremonies Howard Wing was preparing a routine for prior to the speeches.
Howard’s motto is “Weddings with a Swing” and the speeches definitely went with a swing, from being abducted by Simon’s Mum?! To making up to the Best Man before rounding off with everyone swaying and standing on their seats, he really did have everyone participating and unreservedly partying. After brilliantly delivered speeches the guests adjourned for a comfort break before continuing the celebrations in the marquee.
It was an absolute pleasure to be part of Hannah & Simon’s wedding day and to top it all here are some kind words from them both “For Simon and I the most important aspect of our Wedding was capturing those magical moments that you can relive for a lifetime. Therefore, it was a high priority when it came to planning our day to find the perfect photographer, we were lucky enough to encounter two Stan Seaton and Jane Miller. They were transparent with the options available to us and were very flexible with meeting us considering we were not local to their studio in Darlington. We were keen to secure them after viewing their extensive portfolio and knowing they had previously photographed our venue Middleton Lodge on many occasions. We opted for the full package they offer as we loved the fact it entitled us to the rights of all photos from the day.
We arranged a pre wedding photo shoot with at Fountains Abbey. On our first meet we had a natural chemistry which made us feel relaxed and comfortable in their presence this gave us confidence in front of the camera. After this session we felt excited and could not wait to see our pictures from the day to allow us the opportunity to review these with Stan and Jane to give our personal views on our theme, the styles of photo we loved and what we were looking to achieve from our big day. Stan and Jane were very professional and listened to us on reviewing our pre wedding pictures which would ensure on our Wedding day they captured everything we wanted.
On our Wedding Day due to Stan and Jane’s familiarity with both the venue and staff made us at ease immediately which was a blessing especially with all our Wedding nerves, they interacted seamlessly with guests and were inconspicuous at all times. Jane focused on photographing me getting ready in the morning whilst Stan was with the Groomsmen and Simon. They came together during the ceremony and for the rest of the day to create great shots which varied from posed, group and natural, including reactions to our magician and entertainment as the day was full of surprises for our guests.
They have photographed our Wedding just as it happened and they were brilliant at not only telling the story of our day but supporting us throughout our whole experience. We would highly recommend, thank you very much.
