Vicky and John knew that they wanted a Middleton Lodge Wedding, as with lots of our wedding couples they fell totally in love with it and they certainly weren’t disappointed the wedding team from Middleton Lodge are second to none in looking after a Bride & Groom and their guests in the lead up to and then on their special day.
Vicky started the morning with hair and beauty prep at Talking Heads Hair and Beauty Salon in Darlington. from there she headed off with her bridesmaids to Middleton Lodge for final preparations. Vicky’s beautiful wedding gown was from the designer La Sposa and supplied by Bridal Rogue Gallery of York, the gorgeous bouquets, buttonholes and arrangements were supplied by Wild and Wonderful
Stan had arranged to meet up with John and the guys at his Aunt’s house in Barton, where they chilled out with a quick game of snooker, (Why do the guys seem to have so much time on their hands on a Wedding morning?………) before heading off the the St Michaels Church in Middleton Tyas to greet the wedding guests. The guys suits were supplied by Affleck and Moffat of Darlington.
We were lucky that the rain held off for Vicky’s trip to the Church, were the wedding ceremony was conducted by Rev. Simon Goulding. before the wedding party headed back to Middleton Lodge for their drinks reception and canapés. The chef’s from the Lodge served a wonderful wedding breakfast including Roast Beef, which was well received by John’s father, who is a retired butcher (He cooked the Hog Roast for the evening reception himself and had to keep popping off during the day to check on it’s progress!)
The festivities continued into the evening when music was supplied by local four piece band Northern Monkeys.
Vicky’s tips for brides planning their wedding are “don’t worry – things don’t go wrong, just differently!” (this is something the priest told us and we thought it was good!) and “don’t compromise on what’s important to you..whether that’s having a special venue or a small, intimate wedding…or an amazing photographer 🙂 ” I love the things don’t go wrong quote, what a lovely perspective on the day!
