Headlam Hall Wedding Photography – We can’t believe that Claire & Rich’s wedding is nearly a year ago! We always love going back to photograph weddings at Headlam Hall the staff are so lovely and friendly. The grounds are amazing and we are really looking forward to photographing in the newly refurbished Coach House Suite.
Claire and Richard only live across the fields from Headlam Hall and they have strong family connections with the hotel, so it seemed the obvious choice for their wedding reception. We had photographed their lovely pre wedding shoot in the early summer rape fields and we were excited about sharing in their wedding day.
Jane joined Claire at Cherry Tree House where all the girlie preparations were taking place, Jo from Make up by Jo and Becky from Angel Hair in Gainford were already very busy when she arrived. The morning seemed particularly busy but Claire had allowed a little extra time for giving of the Bridesmaids gifts at which point Anna from Hutton Flowers arrived with the bridal bouquets.Claire’s beautiful wedding dress was by designer Maggie Sottero from Blush Bridal at Uppermill.
At Headlam Hall, Stan met up with Richard and the guys who were managing to fit in 9 holes on the golf course before heading back to Richard’s parents house to getting ready for the big day. A quick change and they all set off for St Mary’s Church in Gainford to meet with the vicar and greet guests as they arrived.
Claire’s Brother-in-law Lee was on hand to drive the bridesmaids to the Church in Claire and Rich’s own (lovingly restored) camper van, before returning for Claire and Mum. On arrival at the church they were greeted by Rev. Neil Russell who also lives next door to Claire & Rich so this was a lovely personal ceremony for Neil too. There ceremony was very emotional, with one of the readings read by Richard’s father Arwel in Welsh as well as English.
Once back at Headlam the guests were greeted by the mellow tones of Harry Mears on the Saxophone and drink and canapés served by the Headlam team. It was good to get a few photos of everyone relaxing on Headlam’s terraces before the rain came and guests retired to The Stable Lounge ready for the wedding breakfast. The speeches were particularly funny and the whole meal was overseen by David Jackson, Headlam’s General Manager.
The evening festivities kicked off with the first dance to Lady Antebellum‘s Run to You, Richard and Claire had planned a little routine, with a grand finale where Rich picked Claire up and swung her round. The couple jetted off to Mauritius for their honeymoon.
