Charlotte Balbier – Unveiled Shoot
It is always a privilege to collaborate with the “Unveiled Team” on photo shoots, but this particular one was even more exciting as this was to be the first issue with Unveiled’s new Editor Julia Braime of Brides up North Wedding Blog fame and featuring International fashion designer Charlotte Balbier and her 2016 Willa Rose Selection.
The backdrop for the shoot was unlike anywhere we had shot before, The industrial setting of Braime Pressings made a striking contrast to the soft femininity of the Balbier gowns. Once we arrived at the Factory, it was great to go off and explore with Julia to find some locations that were really going to create an impact when combined with great lighting. While Stan & Julia were exploring, Jane took the opportunity to meet model Cala from Boss Models and watch Anna of Cordelia and Co creating the look that her and Julia had chosen, while capturing a few behind the scenes shots.
The first couple of styles had a very soft , minimal and free feel about it and this was reflected with the softening of the back drop by stylist Julia.
We then moved location to an area that had some beautiful soft natural light peeping through the skylights enhancing Stan’s use of studio lighting. While Charlotte selected a couple of simple elegant gowns which were frame beautifully with the A-frame steps Anna updated Cala’s make up and restyled the hair to give this elegant ponytail style to complete the look.
For the final set, the elegant line continued but this time showcasing strapless gowns with the edition of a veil to frame Cala’s pretty features and beautiful figure.
A great day with a fabulous team who were all hands on with reflectors. lights and moving gear from location to location often up and down many flights of stairs, But icing on the cake had to be that we all know when we were leaving that we had something very special.
